The story behind this limited edition kit is reflective of our reverence for the history and pageantry of the Giro in addition to our intrinsic connection to Italian culture:
The names on the back of the jersey celebrate those who’ve won the Giro once, on the front, those who’ve triumphed multiple times. A nod to La Gazzetta is implied with the halftone pattern, and the center pocket showcases the Italian flag tricolor and commemorative 100°. Highlights of iconic pink bring it all together, channeling the strength of 100 years of champions.
The story behind this limited edition kit reflects our reverence for the history and pageantry of the Giro. We're not just Italian by name; we own our factory there and have always made our clothing in Italy. For us, the Giro is in our blood, so we honor the 100th edition by paying tribute to those who have been victorious at the Giro. The back of the jersey recognizes those who have triumphed once, and on the front, champions who have conquered the race multiple times. The pink halftone pattern celebrates La Gazzetta and brings them all together.
Make a statement from any angle. Seamless laser cut arm cuffs allow the graphics to wrap without any interruptions. Subtle stretch in the fabric and shoulder articulation conforms to the riding position without being restrictive so you get the best possible fit on the bike.
Each jersey has a commemorative Limited Edition patch sewn onto the back behind the left side pocket adding to the kit’s exclusivity. We took great care in designing and presenting this kit to you so that you’ll cherish it for years to come.
Giordana bib shorts have a history of outstanding comfort and our Scatto Pro is no exception. The compressive fit, our stellar Cirro chamois, and comfortable leg bands hold the bibs in place without restricting, so you can show off the kit all day long.
This project became even more personal to us with the loss of a great champion, Michele Scarponi. He would've had the honor and responsibility of leading Astana at the 100th Edition of the Giro. His name can be found on the back of the jersey and leg band. Ciao, Michele. The Giro and the sport won't be the same without you.
Even the bib upper is distinctive. Iconic pink, the 100 logo, and the tricolor combine to honor 100 years of the Giro.
To complete the look, we made our classic FR-C Tall sock a bit taller. This lightweight yet durable, ribbed cuff sock contours to the foot without adding volume.
While the Tour de France is viewed as the biggest and most prestigious of the Grand Tours, the Giro is arguably the most beautiful. Not simply due to the magnificence of its roads and countryside, but because of the unabashed fervor of its devoted fans. It is a race teeming with telenovela-like drama where storylines crescendo and captivate a nation. The pomp and circumstance alone are enough to work a ravenous Tifosi into hysteria.
Again and again, they amass to secure their place on narrow streets and mountainsides, waiting hours for a flash of their favorite gladiators on the attack. These are moments that will be etched into memory, cherished and relived. But 100 years is not enough to satisfy this romance verging on obsession, and as long as a heart beats in Italy, the Giro will go on. Read more on the blog
